Paul Allen, Parent Volunteer and Website Coordinator for Highlands High School baseball (aka: Dirty Birds) is enjoying his third season using Korrio to manage and simplify operations. “I like to take the administrative burden off our coaches so they can coach and produce better athletes each day”, said Allen. “We struggled in the past with cobbled together solutions and products that were hard to manage and wasted precious time and energy.”
Highlands High School came across Korrio in the Fall of 2011. Paul Allen did the competitive research and found Korrio to be an integrated and easy to use product to serve his Freshman, JV and Varsity teams. Korrio helps over 150 people; parents, players and coaches enjoy the baseball season.
“Korrio helps me execute our strategy in many ways. It helps me manage teams and rosters seamlessly (even when I need to double roster). It allows superior communication to players and parents on schedules and last minute alerts. And, it also helps me coordinate our new Highlands Diamond Club communication for fundraising activities,” said Paul.
Highlands High School Baseball takes advantage of the last minute alerts, which send parents, and players communication based on their customized preference – via email, text or robo-call. “In a season of up to 40 scheduled games, we typically only play 30 or so due to rainouts and cold here in Northern Kentucky. This season, I am finding Korrio to be even more useful thanks to their new mobile app. Now I can help update information or send out messages even when I am at the ballpark. Our program is starting to use the app and it has been very well received.”
“Another thing I liked was Korrio’s commitment to player safety and privacy. In today’s world, this is critical and you can’t always assume it. Knowing they were thinking about such important items as background checks, concussion waivers and privacy settings gave me confidence in their platform. Korrio has an enterprise level approach to this unlike anything in the sports market.”
Paul works closely with the Korrio team on new features and product feedback. Like anything, it takes a team to produce success! And when, he is ready to give up his volunteer work after his son graduates, it is much easier to do when the automation is set up and fun to use! (he is always thinking….)
