We all live the same lives, right? Running to and from athletic practices and games – trying to figure out where to be and what to wear. The end goal is to fulfill our child’s passion – whatever that may be. As your children grow older, the weight only gets heavier in regard to club/elite play and team selection. I ran across this article over the weekend in The New York Times and thought it did a great job at explaining the investment we all make in our kids and the reality of it all. Research showed that families spend up to 10.5 percent of gross income on their children’s sport. How does this impact family life? What about the emotional side of youth sports? Lots to think about as we support, encourage and protect our kids. There is so much to be learned through sports, for both athlete and parent.
