In January 2011, five-time World Cup veteran and two-time Olympic Gold winner Kristine Lilly retired from professional soccer, ending a worldwide landmark career. In her 23-year career, Lilly made a record 352 international appearances and scored 130 goals, the third highest in US history, and holds the record as the youngest and the oldest player to ever score for the USA.
Nine months after her retirement, Lilly gave birth to her second daughter and the girls are now seven months and almost four years. This March, Lilly took the position of assistant coach for the WPSL Boston Breakers, where she formerly played and captained in both the WUSA and the now-suspended WPS, and more recently took on the role of spokesperson for Korrio, a networking platform and organizational tool for soccer clubs, players and parents.
