As a parent, one of our top priorities is to ensure healthy food for our kids. Lots of times, kids seem uninterested in eating vegetables or fruits (…sometimes) and seem to be very choosy about what they want to eat or not. If you are in such a situation, consider offering them a homemade smoothie made of fresh juices (vegetables or fruits) as kids are more prone to drink tasty drinks in a second, than eating vegetables.
Here are 5 ideas for you to try out at home:
Use mangoes, blueberries, honey, almond and Greek yogurt – this can make a delicious tropical smoothie which is rich in antioxidants, protein and vitamins for your kid.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Use organic frozen strawberry and banana along with organic milk or Greek yogurt to make a delicious fruity smoothie for your kids. This drink is a good source of fiber and potassium for your kids. You can add chia seeds or flex seeds to add in the healthy omega fatty acids in your kid’s diet.
Use watermelon and lemon to make a delicious lemonade for your kids. Rich in vitamin A And vitamin C, this juice does not require any sugar to make it sweet due to the sweetness of the watermelon.
Carrot Orange Juice
Use carrots and oranges to make your kids a glass of fresh juice. Not only does it have the advantage of vegetable (carrot), it is also rich in vitamin C. You can do variations by adding apple or strawberry in this juice.
Spinach Berry Smoothie
Add spinach, berries, milk and ice and blend it for your kids to make a delicious breakfast smoothie.
