No More Squiggly Lines

Categories: , , , , , , , ,

We recently introduced an update to Korrio to replace the green squiggly lines with a dash. If a user is not supposed to see certain information, the system will just not display that information. We think this is simpler than showing you a page full of green squiggly lines. Please note that we did not make any changes to our privacy engine, that governs what users are allowed to see on a specific page. This update is merely a visual change.

This improvement is part of our ongoing commitment to improve the user experience for all of our members.

For more information on our Privacy, you can view Privacy Policy Details Helps Answer Member Questions.

Helpful Tips: Programs Tab Season Dates

Categories:

On the Programs Tab of your Club’s Korrio site, there is drop down titled Season. These dates populate based on the Start and End Dates for each respective program, and aggregates them into a single “season.”

This feature does not directly affect your members, and their registration experience. Families that register only see Active Programs, and can register to any program that has an open registration date. Historic and Pending Programs are only for Club Admin.

Member Lookup

Categories: , , ,

We recently introduced a new feature that provides club admin with a faster method of searching for member accounts. Look for the Member Lookup icon  on the main tab of your Club’s Korrio site. Enter in as much information as you have to improve your search results.

Helpful Tips: Open a New Window or Tab in Your Browser

Categories: , , , , ,

Some of the work that you do requires looking at multiple pieces of information at once, or the completion of repetitive tasks. A simple tool to help you do your job faster is to open a new window or tab in your browser.

When you are searching for an individual or looking across multiple teams, instead of clicking on the link in Korrio, right click on the link. Your browser will display a dialogue box where you can elect to view the link in a new window or tab. After you’re finished, close the tab that you were looking at and return to the original page to right click on another link.

You are essentially using the first page as a table of contents!

Helpful Tips: Custom Fields and Default Selection

Categories:

When adding custom fields that with radio buttons or yes/no, the system currently defaults the first setting as the default option for a parent during registration. In the example below, the first Radio Option is N/A. During registration, this option is the default selection.

There have a few instances when parents rush through registration without properly reviewing the club’s custom field questions. One approach to identify whether a parent properly answered your custom field question is to include N/A or Choose Answer as the first Radio Option choice.

Helpful Tips: Scholarships with Automatic Payment Plans

Categories: ,

There are two methods for handling scholarships for competitive teams (premier and travel) that have higher club fees.

1. Use Admin Entered / Walk Up Registration to apply the scholarship during registration, and select Automatic Payment Plan as the payment method. Please note that this method will require the processing of a credit card prior to completion of the walk up registration.

2. Have parents register children for your club’s Season Registration program selecting the Automatic Payment Plan method, then make adjustments after registration is complete.

Steps to Implement #2 Above

Admin Entered Walk Up Registration

Categories:

We recently introduced a new feature to better support walk up registrations. Walk Up Registration is only available to club administrators.

Korrio provides Clubs and its member families with a fully integrated youth sports automation system that is safe and secure. Through Korrio, your club provides coaches, managers, parents and players with an account from which to better communicate, schedule and share. Similar to any modern web-based solution, members must have access to an email account. The use of an email address for log in credentials is an industry standard because it provides for a secure method of verifying someone’s identity.

We understand that many clubs have families that are not active computer users. Our walk up solution allows you to register these players in person, over the phone or by entering data off of a paper registration form.

Please note that you should always encourage your families to obtain a free email address from a major email provider. This is the only way to access all of the time saving and fun features of Korrio. However, for the family that can’t, our walk up solution allows you to do your job to register, place the player on a team and let the coach and families know who is on their team.

To Access Walk Up Registration:

Helpful Tips: Volunteer Registration Not Intended for Team Based Registration Use

Categories:

As of today (May 11, 2012), Korrio does not support Team based registration such as for Tournaments. While some customers have been creative in using the Adult Only (self registration) setting and custom fields to set up tournament registrations, it is not recommended. At Korrio, we conduct extensive research on user behavior and do not believe we support the tournament scenario.

For example, for tournaments, many team managers submit entries for multiple teams. Korrio only allows a single person per registration. Regarding custom fields, we have found that customers add too many custom fields to support a team based registration. This makes sense as Korrio’s standard fields were designed to support the player and volunteer registration. However, Less Custom Fields is More. Each new question beyond 3 to 5 Custom Fields that you add reduces the probability of your member reading and answering your questions.

We understand that many clubs used tournaments as a form of fund raising during the year and would benefit from tournament functionality. Our recommendation is to purchase a stand alone tournament registration and management vendor. There are many stand alone vendors that do this well, and were specifically created for this use.

Grade Based Registration

Categories: , ,

We have recently released a new feature that provides Clubs with the ability to register based on the grade of a player, rather than age. Follow the steps in the link below to enable grade based eligibility for player registration and team formation.

Playflow Features – Grade Eligibility

Please note that Grade based registration must be enabled at the club level and once enabled, will ask for the grade of a player for all registrations. This adds an extra step to the registration process for parents (see image below). It’s great when it is necessary, but a hassle if not. Thus grade based registration should be used if your club primarily rosters by the grade of a player.

Helpful Tips: How to Handle Play Ups – Tryout Based Registration

Categories:

For tryout based registration, play ups only come into play during registration for the tryout event. For season registration, rostering a play up is no different from any other player as registrars receive a list of players by team from the coach or selection committee.

During tryouts, open the age parameters of the age eligibility to allow for play up registrations. For example, if your tryout event is for Boys U16 – U18, set the age eligibility for U15 – U18 to allow for play ups. If a parent has registered their child for the wrong tryout event, move the player into the age appropriate program. For more details, view our support post titled Moving a Player from One Registration Program to Another.
